TIG Welding

We offer exceptional TIG welding solutions.

Today, there are many different processes welders can use to join metals together successfully. The type of equipment used, the amount of pressure, and the amount of heat differentiate each welding process. TIG welding is one of the most popular types of welding processes, not only because it produces high-quality welds, but also because it requires a higher level of skill to complete properly.

TIG Welding

TIG welding, which is another name for gas tungsten arc welding, was originally used in the aircraft industry in the 1930s and 1940s to weld magnesium. The general process occurs like this:

  • The welder will create an arc between the non-consumable tungsten electrode and the base metal.
  • When the arc hits the base metal, a molten weld pool will form.
  • A thin wire of filler metal is carefully and slowly delivered through the weld pool, where it starts to melt.

The final result of TIG welding is a slag-free, sound weld that boasts the same resistance corrosion properties as the original metal.

Many industries today rely on TIG welding. For example, spacecraft, aerospace, construction, auto, and a variety of other industries rely on TIG welds to create new products, machinery, and equipment.
